The blossoming of palliative care and hospice (especially in Humboldt County) brings us such joy. No longer does the end of life need to mean long stays in a hospital and enormous bills. We envision a future where we all support this transitional care because… we’re all gonna need it sometime!
That’s right. This is a transition, baby. Just like from the beforelife to living, from living to the afterlife needs a helping hand, a guide if you will. And we’re not talking Charon ferrying you across the river Styx. The folks who do this work are normal people, not mythical immortals.
But they do some pretty special work.

This 19 bedroom palace has everything a live in staff will need to guide the next group on their way to the next realm. Chefs prepare what could be your last meal. Staff set up your last game of go. Drivers shuttle you for your last walk on the nearby beach. It’s a beautiful place to say goodbye!
And don’t worry about your final resting place. A nearby grove of trees is a forest of burial pods — where your body will decompose into the roots of a tree. Other options are available, but who wouldn’t want to be a tree in your next life?
Off into the great beyond…
One last thing. This place is not just for the wealthy. Most folks want to stay home with family, but sometimes there are situations in which a person transitioning out of this life needs a place to do this work.
