Each Winter, we offer free fruit trees to local residents who agree to share the harvest with anyone who wants some. We're now accepting requests for plantings in February-April 2021. To be eligible, the planting location must be accessible to passers-by, and you must be willing to make the fruit available to anyone who wants some. Have you heard the news? We're taking on production of the Community Food Guide - Humboldt & Del Norte (formerly the Local Food Guide by Locally Delicious). We're really excited about how this year's edition is shaping up, but we've hit a small snag.
The Food Guide has always relied on generous community sponsors to offset its printing and distribution costs. This year, many potential sponsors have been hit hard by the impacts of COVID, and are unable to help.
We know that the COVID catastrophe illustrates why the Food Guide - with its focus on access, equity, education and empowerment - is more important than ever, and we're determined to put out a useful and engaging magazine no matter what.
If you (or your business) is in a financial position to be able to sponsor to help bridge the 'COVID gap' this year, we'd be so grateful. The deadline to reserve space (if you wish to submit artwork) is January 20th (though we can be somewhat flexible on that) - and as of today we're at only half of our goal.
